Analysis of Needs of Centres for Social Work in Bosnia and Herzegovina


The scope of the project is the development of a needs analysis of Centres for Social Work with a view to improve efficiency of institutions in the social welfare system at all levels of government in BiH, furthermore:

  • Improving capacities of Centres for Social Work at all levels of government in BiH to ensure better quality of services provided to beneficiaries of the social welfare services;
  • Improved protection of vulnerable families;
  • Prevention of separation of children from their families.

 

The scope of experts’ work includes assessments of the following areas:

  • Assessment of the current state of CSW infrastructure with regard to the following: condition of CSW facilities, architectural obstacles, installations, ownership status, needs for intervention, IT and technological infrastructure, competent authorities’ plans for improving the situation and investment plans;
  • Assessment of human resources, organisational structure and programming frameworks of CSWs;
  • Assessment of current practices in working with beneficiaries of services with regard to the following: accessibility of CSW offices for individual work with beneficiaries; availability of rooms for group work;
  • Assessment of the situation in terms of standards and norms for provision of CSW services;
  • Assessment of the situation with regarding to existing CSW IT networks within the system and under the responsibility of competent authorities, and existing planning practices and future plans, if any;
  • Assessment of the situation in terms of equal opportunities and access to CSWs for the following: persons with disabilities, persons in remote rural areas; and other groups that may be excluded due to the lack of adequate access to facilities in general or due to inadequate CSW facilities;
