Feasibility Study To Assess Georgia’s Participation In The Erasmus+ Programme And For Relevant Capacity Building
The political association and economic integration into the EU’s education area is a primary goal of Georgia's European aspirations, in part, its European choice and the common goal of building a democratic, stable country. Among other priorities, the government is committed to developing education, research and innovation policies in line with EU policy by promoting LLL education, cooperation and transparency at all levels of education and training, as well as mutually beneficial research and development.
Georgia has achieved high participation rates in general education and higher education, specifically, participation in higher education has also grown rapidly from 28% to close to 60% over 2012-2019. The opportunities given by the EU programmes to the youth NGOs in Georgia, contributed immensely to forming a strong, independent youth sector, which made the voice of young people more powerful
The overall objective of this 2-years project is to support the Government of Georgia to assess Georgia’s most appropriate, enhanced and efficient participation in the Erasmus+ Programme and to promote the lifelong learning, encourage cooperation and transparency at all levels of education and training as well as the youth and sport affairs, as provided for by the EU – Georgia Association Agreement.
Finallly, to contribute to the primary goal achievement, which is political association and economic integration of Georgia into the EU’s education area.
Outcomes
The team will deliver a comprehensive Feasibility Study, including:
- detailed research plan
- Report on Georgia’s absorption capacities
- SWOT Analysis
- Indicative multi-annual planning document (IMPD)
- Capacity building plan and activities.
This will serve as an institution and capacity planning and monitoring instrument to further structure interventions needed, so that Georgia may come closer to reaching the Erasmus+ Associated Country status.
